There's a project started up at www.geocities.com/piebucket/ukcp_homepage
Every month i get a new compilation cd through the door.
Basically Person A makes a compilation of their fave music each month, and then sends it to Person B (who, more than likely is a total stranger). At the same time, Person C is sending Person A a compilation of music they love... As the website puts it, everyone puts a little effort in and everyone gets something in return.
It's a pretty cool idea and i've been introduced to bands like the mountain goats, new pornographers, cloud room etc from it.

nice idea, have heard of something like this before
i was thinkin of a chain-mail or to do something with my ftp (like offering 25mb of space to the public, who can then upload their top3, it will stay there for a week, etc)
the reason for this forum was to share info and stuff as well... too bad it never achieved any kind of popularity
